Electrical energy is a precious and vital resource for the development of the economic, political and social life of our planet. However, because of the high cost of production and the scarcity of raw materials, it is necessary to regulate electricity consumption to ensure the durability of raw materials for future generations. This implies limiting the wastage of electricity, as energy savings remain a key issue today, to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns, as required by the twelfth Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations. Moreover, energy wastage in a given network by priority users makes this resource scarce for less privileged users in the same network and result in power interruptions in such zones. The only solution to this increasing energy wastage is the possibility to balance the energy we consume to the energy we need. For this, we developed the product CLEVERHOME, which allows us to follow the energy we consume from a smartphone and adjust our consumption to our real needs but also, save money by spending less on electricity bills. CLEVERHOME is an electronic tool installed in the user’s building and a mobile application that allows the user to control and monitor the parameters of his installation wherever he is. It has two main functionalities namely, a home automation feature and an intelligent energy management functionality. The user can: • Control his electrical installations everywhere, and know at all times when they are off or on; • Set a time at which his equipment will be switched off ; • Be notified when any lights are on at specific times of the day. If nothing is done after 2 mins, the light is automatically turned off; • Define a budget for energy consumption and thus monitor the evolution of their consumption at the FCFA and kWh each day • Consult his consumption history for the ongoing year and make appropriate adjustments
The problem PFMS is solving today in the poultry industry is the increasing mortality of baby chicks due to unregulated heating, diseases or virus in a poultry farm. During the 21 day brooding phase, chicks are constantly dying because of the above mention problems in small holder’s farms. On average, 1 out of every 7 chicks dies from unregulated heating, disease or virus. Last year in Cameroon, over 2 million chicks died. This growing problem is costing Cameroonian poultry farmers over 1 Billion FCFA a year, and it is costing sub-Sahara Africa poultry industry over 90 Billion FCFA. Our Solution is Safe our Chickens kit, an innovated device with a Wireless Wi-Fi Microscope Endoscope Magnifier Digital Pan & Tilt Camera 1000X 8 LED with Audio & Remote Control, Thermostat and Alarm System powered by solar energy and controlled from a smart phone via mobile app. This device makes a photo of the fowl droppings, sends it to the microscope for diagnosis on all diseases or virus present in the poultry farm; it produces the results and sends a report together with the needed treatment to a smart phone via mobile app. It also monitors and regulates the temperature to suits the health condition of chickens while reducing mortality. The alarm system is set for awaken chickens to eat, this increases their immune system for steady growth and keeps the chickens alive and healthy. PFMS is dedicated to the improvement of livestock management, instant diagnosis on all diseases or virus present in the poultry farm plus needed treatment and monitoring systems, a Cameroonian based company located in Buea south West region. PFMS creates solutions to reduce the amount of chicks that dies in a poultry brooder facilities. They do this through the use of IOT, diagnosis and Big Data systems that give the average farmer an advantage. Accessing healthcare facilities and professionals is increasingly becoming a huge challenge for developing countries especially in rural areas due to the shortage of both these facilities and the professionals. As rural people suffer due to very few doctors, poorly equipped health facilities and long distant travels for consultation, urban city dwellers have their own problems, which includes among many, the stress of waiting long hours on queues in front of doctors’ offices amidst a very busy daily schedule. eDoctar is a pan African telemedicine platform offering a video/text based online remote medical consultations, electronic health record services and therapy/counselling services across developing countries using cutting edge web and mobile app based software. To give these remote consultations greater accuracy we are integrating telemedical equiptments like stethoscopes, examination cameras, electronic ECGs, electronic BP machines and many more which can send signals to a doctor from a patient remotely. We collaborate with hospitals, health centers, clinics and medical professionals to setup telemedicine centers in rural areas that connects patients to doctors and therapists across geographical barriers. Patients in urban areas can also use the platform to connect with doctors and therapists from the comfort of their homes and offices skipping the long queues in front of doctor’s offices and saving themselves precious time to use on other productive things.
