Sinc Freelancer is a digital marketing and co-working space project aimed at alleviating the high unemployment rate in Botswana, especially among the youth. Sinc is a robust ICT solution that aims to provide skilled personnel with an online platform where they have an opportunity to get jobs nationally and internationally. Sinc freelancer was established by two young Batswana who have been working as freelancers with local and international clients for over a year. Sinc creators have profiles on major international freelancing platforms such as Upwork and Through social media pages, Sinc has been able to secure local freelancing jobs. Although our occupation carries the label freelancer, it has been our only source of income and proven sustainable since February 2016. A website to advance Sinc’ mandate is currently under development. Digital Marketing Sinc will provide a platform where young batswana can register their freelancing profiles to showcase their academic background as well as any other skills, work or projects they have been a part of. The platform will assist freelancers with applying for jobs locally, regionally and internationally. Clients will also register accounts and be able to post jobs and hire freelancers through the platform. Co-Working Space Sinc will provide co-working spaces which freelancers registered to platform can use as a base for their day to day work. This space will have resources that freelancers need for their work such as internet connectivity, laptops, secretarial services, printing services and boardroom facilities. Sinc will host regular events to encourage networking among the freelancers. Resource Sharing Sinc will give those freelancers who do not have the capacity to own resources the option to rent devices needed to fulfil their work such as laptops for software developers and cameras for photographers. These are some of the benefits that will come with being a member of SINC freelancer.
