Interview with Isahit, 2nd prize, Social Venture Prize 2018

Please tell us about your company
Founded in 2016 by Isabelle Mashola and Philippe Coup-Jambet, isahit is a socially responsible startup that creates a link between artificial and human intelligence.
This French “tech for good” offers to companies a digital sourcing impact platform in self-service or via a programmatic interface (API), for the treatment of digital tasks that can not be supported by an artificial intelligence.
The HITers community of Isahit (HIT = human intelligence task) is essentially composed of women based in Africa, looking for additional income to finance their studies or an entrepreneurial project. Isahit is part of a co-development approach by participating in the deployment of the CSR strategy of French and African companies and by giving new opportunities to the populations of emerging countries.
Isahit gives digital work to more than 800 women across 17 countries and aims to expand to 25 countries in French-speaking and English-speaking Africa and Asia by the end of 2019, and to bring together 10,000 HITers to create a social impact for 40,000 people, within 3 to 4 years.

Why did you choose to participate to the Orange Social Venture Prize?
We decided to join the OSVP because Isahit corresponds to what this prize represents: an innovative project, using mobile money for a stronger digital inclusion and whose goal is to improve the living conditions of the populations in Africa. There was no doubt for us to apply.

In a nutshell, the Orange Social Venture Prize is…
First of all, it is a very good visibility with the Orange network and their partners. Then, it’s a great financial reward that has really helped us in our international development and finally it’s a recognition for projects that work for a better and fairer world.
