Bond'innov: six months coaching for the Prize finalists

This year, Bond’innov, the startup incubator located in Bondy (Seine-Saint-Denis, France) is tasked with coaching the winners of the Orange Social Venture Prize Africa & Middle East 2018, more exactly the ten international finalists. Fatimatou Ousmanou explains.

  • What is Bond’innov?

Bond’innov is an incubator for innovative projects that supports innovation with a strong economic and societal impact. It supports all types of innovative projects in France and Africa, particularly in the fields of health/biotechnologies, the environment and the social and solidarity economy. Our values are openness with supported projects in various fields and with a strong international dimension, sharing with a strong community and friendly networking events and excellence through the quality of our projects and support.

  • How do you support entrepreneurship in Africa?

Our role is to support and promote entrepreneurship in Africa and to create a favourable context for the development of the start-ups we support. Bond’innov since its foundation has a very strong presence in Africa, thanks to its partnership with the IRD (Institut de Recherche de Développement), which has more than thirty representations on the continent. Most of the startups incubated at Bond’innov have an important African dimension.  In addition, Bond’innov through its ecosystem division contributes to strengthening entrepreneurship actors in Africa, including the Afric’innov and Afidba programs.

  • What more do you bring to start-ups?

We provide startups with a complete support offer (networking, access to offices in more than 30 countries in Africa, masterclasses and workshops with entrepreneurship experts, as well as a financing opportunity through our two loan funds: International & Sud and Afric’innov).

  • What do you plan to implement with the Orange Social Venture Prize Africa & Middle East winners?

We set up a number of online tools such as a personalized diagnosis as well as a catalogue of training courses and individual workshops for finalist projects. A team of four project managers, from the Bond’innov Incubation and Expertise sections, are in charge of the process. The support programme for the finalists of the Orange Social Venture Prize Africa & Middle East 2018 will last for six months.
