By the end of the three-month application period to the Orange Social Venture Prize Jordan 2017, no less than 30 entries had been submitted in the kingdom. These projects focus mostly on health, education, agriculture and e-commerce. They share a concern: to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of the local populations through the use of digital tools and platforms.
The first stage of the evaluations made it possible to retain six projects and to identify the public’s favourite project, which received the largest number of votes of Internet users.
The winner of the national voting phase in Jordan is the Vision project.
The six Jordanian finalists will pitch their respective projects to the jury constituted for this purpose during a live session. In the end, the jury will award three national prizes. The date, time and location of the pitch session will be communicated to all finalists in due time.
The three national winners will receive rewards and will be entering the Orange Social Venture Prize Grand Prize, along with the winners of all other participating countries. The three winners of the Grand Prize will be rewarded at a ceremony in AfricaCom, in South Africa, with a first prize of €25,000.
Orange Jordan congratulates the finalists and encourages all the participants, all of whom have proposed excellent projects.
The final results will be announced very soon.
