CanBank, Mada and Passin win the Orange Social Venture Prize Egypt 2017!

The Orange Social Venture Prize Egypt 2017‘s winners have been found! After a pitch session which allowed every finalist to expand upon their ideas and social business model, the jury designated the three national winners.

Through a rigorous process, the finalists had been previously selected from 113 applications. The jury included experts from both Orange Egypt and the Egyptian entrepreneurship ecosystem.

1st Prize and Public’s Favourite: CanBank, a machine that gives users instant rewards like phone credit or promo codes in exchange of their used beverage cans or plastic bottles or allow them to give it away to charity.

2nd Prize: Mada aims to create an online platform for special needs children.

3rd Prize: PassIn offers a way to monitor employee attendance using their smartphones.

All three Egyptian winners will be rewarded with an incubation period with Injaz Egypt, high end devices, and access to Orange APIs service. They also earn a ticket to the international phase of the contest, and get a pass at trying to get the €50,000 in prizes.
